MOUNTAIN BIKING: Olmstead Loop

← CA BEAR RIVER WHEATLAND CA Single Tracks →

Description

Intermediate ride with some good climbing. I rode the loop clockwise, but I got the feeling that most go the other direction. The trail is fairly well marked, but I got off track a few times. If confused just stay on the most used looking trail and lood for knobby tire tracks. This is a popular equestrian trail too so be on the lookout for horses. It was also fairly muddy this time of year which can be quite a mess when you throw horses into the mix. Probably best to ride in June or later, however, the wildflowers were really in blume.

Directions

Take Hwy 80 to Auburn. Then hwy 49 south to Cool. Just as you are entering town there will be a firestation on the right. Trail head is right behind it.
